A trend of blending Goth traits with bellydancing garb has become quite popular in the scene, breeding an entire new type of Goth; the Tribal Goth. (Also properly known as Goth Bellydancers.) These Goths came about around the time bellydancing became popular in the U.S.A. They instantly found a way to cleverly throw Gothic flair onto hipskirts and jewelry and create a new aesthetic of bone and wood accessories, as would a "tribal" person. They can be seen as similar to Hippy Goths, with longer hair or dreads and they listen to a variety of music.
Typical fashion, as expected, includes bellydancing garb that's been made black or covered in more Gothy items like lace for that morbid flare. Older, more tribal shirts and pants covered in faux furs, bone or wood decorations are common, along with stone, bone or wood pendants and sandals. Dreads and long, messy hair are also appropriate for the style, and so is dark, smokey makeup. Tribal tattoos are a big hit.
